Getting started

rocapad is a launchpad for Solana coins. A coin launches straight into its own Orca pool, with its whole supply in one position that is locked for good, and every trade pays back into the coin through its fee mode.

What happens to a coin

  1. Someone launches it. Their wallet signs two transactions: the first creates the coin and its Orca pool, the second puts all 1B coins into one position in that pool, locks it for good and hands it to the platform wallet. Nobody can make more coins or take the liquidity out.
  2. People buy and sell it in that pool from the first block. Each buy raises the price. Every trade pays the pool’s 2% fee: 1% to the platform, 0.74% to the coin’s fee mode and 0.26% to Orca.
  3. When about 85 SOL sits in the position (on a SOL pair), the coin has graduated. It is a milestone: the pool and the position stay the same, and trading carries on.

Connect a wallet

Use Connect wallet in the top bar. Any browser wallet that supports the Solana Wallet Standard shows up in the list. rocapad never holds your keys on the website: every buy, sell and launch is a transaction your wallet shows you and you sign.

You need a little SOL for network fees and, when you launch, for the rent of the accounts the launch creates. The launch page shows the cost before you sign.

Launch a coin

During early access launching is invite-only: the launch page opens for invited wallets and tells others so.

Open Launch and fill in:

  • name, symbol, picture and an optional description and links. The name, symbol and picture are permanent;
  • the pair: SOL, or one of the tokenized stocks on offer;
  • the fee mode: where the coin’s 0.74% of every trade goes;
  • an optional dev buy: a normal buy in the new pool, sent right after the launch.

Your wallet signs the two launch transactions (one prompt when the wallet can sign several at once), plus the dev buy if you chose one. You pay the rent for the accounts they create, about 0.033 SOL, and Metaplex’s fee for the coin’s metadata. Pair, fee mode and creator wallet are fixed at launch and can never change. When the second transaction lands you are taken to the coin’s page.

If the second transaction never lands (you closed the wallet, or the network dropped it), the coin exists but holds no locked position yet. The launch page offers Finish launch for it, from the same browser or with /launch?finish=<mint>.

Buy and sell

Every coin has a page (/t/<mint>) with its chart, trades, holders and a trade panel. Pick Buy or Sell, type an amount and read the quote: what you get, the fee, and the price impact. Slippage protects you if the price moves before your transaction lands.

Every trade is a swap in the coin’s Orca pool and pays 2%. You can’t sell below the launch price: the position holds no SOL there. Quick-buy links on the home page and in the terminal only fill in the amount; nothing is sent until you sign.

This is Mainnet

This deployment runs on Solana mainnet: trades spend real SOL, and stock pairs use the real tokenized stocks. Switch your wallet to mainnet before you connect. To buy a stock-paired coin you need the stock itself in your wallet.
